Dayton, OH (January 5, 2024) – The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the scene of a two-vehicle crash on Thursday, January 4th. The accident happened around 5:00 p.m. at the intersection of Needmore Road and Wagner Ford Road.

According to a police report from the scene, Jose Gonzalez, of Dayton, was traveling was traveling westbound in the left-hand lane of Needmore when he tried to make a left turn onto Wagner Ford Road. As Gonzalez turned, he failed to yield the right of way to an oncoming vehicle. As a result, Gonzalez’s 2014 Chevrolet Sonic collided with a 2001 Pontiac Grand Am driven by Stephanie McKellop, of Dayton. Fire and rescue crews responded to the scene and McKellop was taken to Miami Valley Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Gonzalez was not injured in the crash. There were no other vehicles or individuals involved.

Following an investigation, police charged Gonzalez with failure to yield the right of way. A further investigation into the accident is underway at this time. There is no further information available.
