Truck Accidents in Ohio  Batavia Township, OH – Travis Light Killed in Semi-Truck Crash on CR-32

A semi-truck accident can lead to serious and devastating injuries for victims. While car accidents can also cause injuries, a crash involving a semi-truck is more likely to cause damage. When fully loaded, a commercial truck can weigh up to 80,000 pounds. For comparison, a large non-commercial vehicle may weigh up to 5,000 pounds. It should be no secret, therefore, that a commercial vehicle accident has the potential for catastrophic consequences.

Truck accidents present a special set of legal challenges for injured victims. For one, there are many potential defendants in a truck accident negligence case. While a car accident may only involve the other driver, more than one party may be legally liable for a truck accident. Often, the truck driver as well as the trucking company may be held accountable. Other potential defendants include mechanics, inspectors, and equipment manufacturers.
