Union Township, OH (January 20, 2024) – A car accident in Union Township resulted in serious injuries on Friday evening, January 19th. The accident took place around 5:00 p.m. on U.S. Route 68 near Antram Road.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol reports that a 24-year-old from Xenia was driving southbound on Route 68 when the driver attempted to pass another vehicle. The passing vehicle drifted into the opposite travel lane and collided head-on with a southbound vehicle that was operated by a 49-year-old Blanchester resident. Both the 24-year-old and the 49-year-old suffered serious injuries. They were taken to Clinton Memorial Hospital. There is no update on their current conditions at this time. Neither of the victims have been identified. Drivers were told to avoid the scene and to find alternate routes of travel if possible.

The accident remains under investigation at this time. There is no word on potential charges. No further information is available.
