Springfield, OH (April 17, 2024) – Police in Springfield responded to the scene of a pedestrian crash with injuries on Wednesday, April 17th. The accident was reported around 7:00 p.m. in the 500 block of Mt. Vernon Avenue.

According to a report from the scene, the victim was walking along Mt. Vernon when they were hit by the car. Paramedics and fire crews responded to the area and found the victim suffering from serious injuries. The injured individual was treated at the scene and was then transported to an area hospital for further treatment. A CareFlight helicopter was placed on standby but it is unknown if the victim was airlifted after the crash. No description of the vehicle was provided. Motorists were advised to avoid the area and to find alternate routes of travel if possible.  The injured victim’s identity has not been released. An investigation remains ongoing. No further information is available.
