Dayton, OH (February 27, 2024) – The Dayton Police Department was dispatched to the scene of a two-car injury accident on Monday, February 26th. The collision happened around 7:40 p.m. on Troy Pike near the Interstate 70 overpass.
According to a report from officials, Jatyren Crutchfield, of Cincinnati, was driving a 2014 Ford Focus southbound on I-70. Crutchfield was traveling in a lane that merged from the on-ramp onto I-70. When he tried to merge onto the highway, Crutchfield failed to yield to a 2014 Chevrolet Impala driven by Sharvae Rhodes, of Huber Heights. The Focus and Impala collided with each other on I-70. Rhodes suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the crash and was taken to a hospital in Huber Heights for further treatment. After an investigation, police charged Crutchfield with failure to maintain his lane and failure to yield. No additional injuries were reported. There is no further information available at this time.
