Dayton, OH (February 25, 2024) –The Dayton Police Department was called to the scene of a car accident with injuries reported on Friday, February 23rd. The crash happened on Hoke Road near Kimmel Road just before 8:00 a.m.

According to a report from the scene, a 2019 Ford F-650 vehicle was traveling southbound on Hoke Road at approximately 10 miles per hour when the driver attempted to make a left turn into a private driveway. As the driver stopped and began turning, they failed to yield the right of way to an oncoming 2015 Hyundai Sonata driven by Dereck Farris, of Tipp City. The F-650 and the Sonata collided with each other. A 17-year-old minor in Farris’s vehicle was transported from the scene to Childrens Medical Center to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the truck was cited at the scene for failing to yield the right of way.
