Dayton, OH – Injuries Reported in Car Accident on S. Smithville Rd. and Linden Ave.

Dayton, OH (March 1, 2024) – A car accident with injuries was reported in Dayton on Thursday, February 1st. The accident took place just after 1:00 a.m. at the intersection of South Smithville Road and Linden Avenue.

According an official police report, a 1996 Honda Civic driven by Steven Morrell, of Dayton, was traveling southbound on South Smithville when he came to the intersection with Linden Avenue. Morrell failed to stop for a red light at the intersection. At the same time, Jeremy Beavers, of Dayton, was driving a 2011 Ford F-150 eastbound on Linden Avenue. Beavers’ truck collided with Morrell’s car as Morrell entered the intersection against a red light. The Dayton Fire Department, along with rescue crews arrived at the scene. Beavers suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Miami Valley Hospital for treatment. There is no further update on his condition at this time.

After an investigation, police charged Morrell with failing to obey a traffic signal. No additional information has been released.
