Clayton, OH (March 26, 2024) – The Clayton Police Department responded to the scene of a car accident with injuries on Monday, March 25th. The collision took place around 3:00 p.m. on Hoke Road near the intersection with National Road.

According to a report from authorities, Cornella Gold, of Union, was driving a 2018 Chevrolet Impala when she came to the intersection with Hoke and National Road. Gold stopped at a stop sign and then attempted to make a right turn. In doing so, she failed to yield to an oncoming electric scooter driven by Jackson Hellman of Englewood. Gold’s vehicle collided with Hellman’s scooter at the intersection. Hellman suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital by the Englewood EMS. No additional injuries were reported as a result of the accident. Following an investigation, Gold was charged with failure to yield. No further information has been released at this time.
