Dayton, OH (February 1, 2025) – A two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Wayne Avenue and Johnson Street left one person injured on Saturday morning.
According to the Dayton Police Department, the crash happened at approximately 11:24 a.m. on February 1. Reports indicate that a Chevrolet Impala, driven by 61-year-old Vicki Lynn Peterman, was traveling northbound on Johnson Street. After making the required stop at the intersection, the vehicle proceeded to turn left onto Wayne Avenue. However, for reasons still under police investigation, the driver reportedly collided with a Chrysler Town & Country, which was traveling eastbound in the second lane from the right curb.
The driver of the Chrysler, identified as 45-year-old Marcus Dewayne Collins, sustained injuries in the crash. Emergency responders arrived at the scene, and Collins was treated for his injuries. Details regarding the extent of his condition have not been released.
Both vehicles sustained moderate to severe damage and were towed from the scene. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident.
